When Trouble Strikes

 

            I have a short and true to life story to tell. The story is about a child who has been suffering from his feelings for a long time and maybe it will also serve as a lesson to each one of us.

The story happened a long time ago. A child lived a simple life with his parents. They are not rich enough to live a life of luxury but they are not poor. They lived their lives as simple as it could be. They were all happy until the day his father decided to go abroad and he was left with his mother. Years passed but they had no communication with his father and then his mother began wondering what was happening until someone from ABS- CBN contacted his mother and told her what happened to his father. His father met an accident, was hospitalized for two months in Jeddah and was in coma. His mother did not inform him what was happening so that he will not be affected by his emotions but as days and months passed by, the child began to know everything and he has been secretly suffering a lot and his behavior changed. In school, he hides his true feelings, he was very playful, a happy person and he was easy to get along with. When he was at home, he was a different person and his mother suffered seeing her son's behavior until one time, his mother decided to talk to her son's principal and teachers. She asked them to help her about her son's behavior and told them everything that was happening.

          As a child, I could not imagine how worst my life was going on when my mother told me that she has fully decided to separate with my father for so many reasons and I understand my mother why until now, I have not seen my father and no communication has been made.

I've always prayed to our Lord and asked Him why he chose me to live this kind of miserable life without a father. I envy my classmates who have complete families and ask why I have nothing except my mother who has been sacrificing a lot.

As years passed by, I realized that I was very wrong to choose that kind of life and so, I decided to change everything starting with my behavior, followed by my studies. I have seen my mother sacrifice a lot and I decided to make an apology to her and promised her to not do it again, that I will be a licensed nurse and help her someday. I promised everything to her and her reply to me was, "Inspite of everything you have done in the past, you are still my only son and I still care and love you no matter what and I expect a lot from your changes."
